Welcome!I adore spring in Sandspit. The place that I grew up is likely just emerging from under piles of hard compacted snow, and everything smells like rotting grass and dog poop that folks have left for their future selves. Every other season is lovely… spring? Not so much. But in Sandspit? Spring brings rouge daffodils and tulips popping up all over town, gray whales migrating through, and nettles galore. The cherry trees around town are all in their glorious (and fleeting) full bloom and the bees and other pollinators create an electrical buzz in each canopy. Like the bees, we’re coming out of a hibernation of sorts, having had very limited staffing hours through the winter while Flavien (our other admin staff) was away travelling (did you catch his amazing slideshow on his travels the other day?). My hours will still be very limited, but I’m looking forward to having the time to write this newsletter again, as I think it’s become an important part of Sandspit’s communication threads!
